The Neverfull has officially moved to Neverland!

Did you ever own the Louis Vuitton Neverfull? Like, ever? I’m sure at one point you either bought it or thought about buying it. I had the White Azul Damier print; and when I bought it you couldn’t tell me nothing! It's often referred to as the "it" bag for moms, students, or just accessible luxury for millennials. But not anymore. The Louis Vuitton Neverfull now starts at $1,960. How is that affordable? There has to be some conspiracy behind this bag—honestly, a conspiracy in luxury fashion in general.

Almost every fashion brand has had massive price increases across the board, but no one really seems to know why. Rarely do they come out with a new style; they may just release a different color, but that’s about it.

The Neverfull has officially moved to Neverland, and people may never get their hands on it again!

The Louis Vuitton Neverfull, once considered an attainable luxury item, has now become a prime example of how the fashion industry has shifted toward exclusivity. The price hikes, especially, feel like a much bigger issue.

Well, let me back up. We know why they’re trying to price certain demographics out of the market. But how is that fair? Luxury brands don’t seem to think luxury should be for everyone.

Almost 20 years ago, when the Neverfull was first released, it was $575. Yes, you read that right. The same bag, made of the same material, has now increased by almost 250%. And luxury fashion doesn’t think that’s a problem, but it is.

Lord, and we can’t forget the tariffs—that’s going to drive the price up even more.

Luxury fashion used to be aspirational, but now it’s not even attainable. Millennials can’t afford these bags unless they’re bought from consignment shops, and sometimes those prices are hiked up due to the lack of access. When is fashion going to come back to reality with its pricing structure? Or are we no longer the target market for them?

Why is this a problem, you ask? Well, every luxury fashion brand should have an item that serves as an entry point, an attainable luxury. For Louis Vuitton, the Neverfull was that item. You would see it everywhere because it was a bag under $1,000 and a great way to start a woman’s luxury bag collection. Baby, the girls need starter bags; they can’t start their luxury collections if the bags are so expensive.

At one point, bags were rewards for new jobs, push gifts, or graduation presents, but now we can’t even walk into a luxury store and find a bag for under $1,000.

But to be honest, I think Louis Vuitton saw the Neverfull as a little too attainable. At one point, it became the symbol for “basic,” so maybe that’s why they upped the price. But one would think that Louis Vuitton wanted people to buy their bags and be seen with their bags.

As the price of entry-level luxury items like the Neverfull continues to climb, it's clear that the luxury fashion world is evolving in a way that may leave many (us) behind. Will Louis Vuitton reconsider their pricing strategies, or have they officially priced out the people who once supported them?

But no, they only want certain people with their bags… *Rolls eyes *and we all know who that is.

The Neverfull has officially moved to Neverland, and people may never get their hands on it again!
